Report Launch: Petrochemicals and climate change: Powerful fossil fuel lock-ins and interventions for transformative change
The report, Petrochemicals and climate change: Powerful fossil fuel lock-ins and interventions for transformative change, provides an investigation into the petrochemical sector.
The report highlights the rapid expansion of the petrochemical sector as well as the range and growth of economic, infrastructural, and political interlinkages with the fossil fuel extraction sector. It argues that these developments and dynamics are crucial to understanding pathways, strategies, and interventions for a low-carbon transition for petrochemicals.
The report is the result of a collaborative research project on petrochemicals and climate change governance.
During the day, key insights from the report will be presented as well as discussions on the future of the industry with two panels of invited researchers and experts.
